Garage sales have a tendency to pop up in heavy numbers once the spring season arrives. The San San Ramon Garage SaleRamon City Council adopted new regulations for advertising and the process involved with conducting garage sales.

Basically, interested parties must register their sale via a no-fee registration either by mail, email, phone, fax or in-person at the Planning Services Division.  Registrants provide their name, address, phone number, (email recommended but not required), and the date and time of the garage sale.

Livermore Economic Development

March 19, 2008

Livermore ClockAt a recent sales meeting, the City of Livermore’s director of economic development, Rob White, came to speak to us about Livermore’s current and future economic development.  Rob updated our group about tourism, the Lawrence Livermore Lab and Livermore’s bustling new downtown area.

Mr. White started his discussion by giving us a quick statistic.  Currently, there are 38 million people living in California.  That number is projected to explode to 50 million by the year 2025.  This is relevant because Livermore is focused on developing itself in order to capture its share of this increased population growth.

Tri-Valley Schools: Scores and Rankings

Tri-Valley School Rankings

In most Buyer-side real estate transaction that I handle, the question about school location and their respective ranking comes up. This is a very important factor to consider not only for buyers who have kids but for those without children, as well.  Tri-Valley resale values can be impacted by the strength of the school that a home feeds into. There are a number of great resources at your disposal for finding out rankings, district information, and additional details about a school.  I have provided those resources below:

Dublin Ulferts Center

In the middle of all the new residential and commercial real estate in Dublin, the Ulferts Center stands out with its unique architecture and assortment of dining and shopping options. Diablo Magazine recently put together a great article detailing the myriad of food options available for customers located within this recent addition to the Tri-Valley.

City of Dublin Developments - Part 2

January 21, 2008

This is the second installment of my report to you on the City of Dublin’s Developments. It looks like residents across the Tri-Valley will benefit from these and other exciting projects in the works.

I’ll start with intersection improvements.  How many of you find yourself waiting to get to work or the BART station at the intersection of Dublin and Dougherty roads? Don’t worry, help is on the way.   New turn lanes and through lanes will be added to the intersection to accommodate the traffic that has been created by the residents descending upon BART. Expected completion date is mid-2008.

In regards to commercial developments, there is a lot happening Former Theater Dublinin Dublin. The largest shopping center with tenants such as Target, Expo and Pets Mart is getting some new neighbors. The former El Torito property has been leased to Elephant Bar. Construction has been fairly slow and completion is set for mid to late 2008. Work is also proceeding on the site of the former theater.  The project’s tenants include Panera Bread, Chipotle, Competition Bicycles and others.  Many of the tenants are already open and the total project completion is set for early 2008.

Dublin is working with Blake Hunt Ventures to develop a new shopping experience for the Tri-Valley on the former IKEA site.  The 27 acre site will be transformed into a 305,000 sq.ft. lifestyle center with new shopping and dining. The feel of the center is intended to be open and airy.

In terms of civic projects, planning has also begun on the approximately 68 acre Fallon Sports Park.  The park will have a variety of competition ball fields.  In addition, the park plans to accommodate a children’s play area, group picnic facilities, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, a BMX track, dog park, and bocce ball courts.

Many people still don’t know that a West Dublin BART station is being built. Dublin BART Garage Construction has started and this development will include an apartment complex, hotel and retail space on the adjacent 7.5 acres of land.  Expectations are that a nearly 6000 passengers will be using this station weekly and expectations are that numbers should grow to about 8500 passengers by 2013.
