New Garage Sale Regulations for San Ramon

Garage sales have a tendency to pop up in heavy numbers once the spring season arrives. The San
Ramon City Council adopted new regulations for advertising and the process involved with conducting garage sales.
Basically, interested parties must register their sale via a no-fee registration either by mail, email, phone, fax or in-person at the Planning Services Division. Registrants provide their name, address, phone number, (email recommended but not required), and the date and time of the garage sale.
The option exists to advertise through the City of San Ramon’s website. The address of the garage sale location, date and time, and the general items that are being sold can all be posted.
The city has placed a few restrictions on all garage sales: garage sales will be permitted on two consecutive days during weekends and national holidays from 7AM to 4PM, and three times per year.
